ATHENS, GA (June 8, 2009) – After a successful 2008 campaign, Hedman Husler Hedders is proud to extend its relationship for a second season as the "Official Header Company of the RC Cola / MoonPie American Speed Association Southeast Asphalt Tour." Today, series officials announced that Hedman Husler Hedders will award a brand new rolling Grand American Race Cars chassis to one lucky team which has purchased its products for use in ASA SAT in 2009.
"We are excited to have Hedman Husler Hedders back for a second year with the ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour," said Tour Operations Manager Micky Cain. "They have come a long way in a short amount of time with their Late Model program and have become a leader in performance headers all over the South."

"We enjoy the marketing opportunity with the series and because of that we are stepping up our involvement with the Tour and our involvement with our Late Model team and back again as the tour's official header brand."
Hedman Husler Hedders is widely known as a manufacturer of drag racing exhaust components for the last 50 years, including a strong focus on the NHRA. That commitment and focus on racing has expanded in the last few years to the stock car level. Last season they put several Late Model teams in victory lane, including World Crown Champion Russell Fleeman, Late Model Champion Dave Gentile, Jr., and three-time ASA SAT winner Jason Hogan. In 2009, Hedman Husler is going above and beyond their official sponsor status with the Southeast Asphalt Tour. Beginning March 1st, 2009, racers that purchase Husler's new Late Model exhaust systems are given a chance to win a brand new 2010 Grand American Race Cars rolling chassis.
"We decided to team up with our good friends Frankie and Augie Grill at Grand American Race Cars to have them build us one of their finest complete rolling chassis. The chassis will come with the body and windows as well," said Vandergriff. "I can’t thank Augie enough for his friendship and help with this marketing plan. We designed a special header a little over a year ago designed specifically to fit their chassis. A strong friendship has been forged between Hedman Husler and Grand American, and that friendship has turned into a great business relationship as well. We decided that, with the economy being as sluggish as it has been, we wanted to give something back to each and every racer who supports our new Late Model products this season."
As further testament to Husler's commitment to the Asphalt racing community, Hedman Husler will also become a major sponsor of the Lakeshore Motorsports Team, which consists of owner David Waters and driver Paul Kelley. Kelley is a proven driver on the Late Model tour in the Southeast. Kelley ran several ASA SAT events in 2008 and posted a pair of top-10 finishes, including a third-place run at the James Garrison Memorial 100.
"David and Paul have been good friends of mine for close to 15 years and we treat their race car as a rolling test bed for research and development on current and future Hedman Husler products," said Vandergriff. "They have had a lot of success in the last few seasons since they started running our products, and we are very proud to be part of the team."
The 2009 RC Cola / MoonPie ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour regular season kicked off on a high note at Five Flags Speedway (Pensacola, FL) on Friday, March 27th, with Paul Kelley taking the checkered flag, proving that Husler's Late Model Hedders can get you to the winner's circle.
